The beaches on Portugal’s Silver Coast are breathtaking. Rugged Atlantic coastline give way to wide sandy beaches.

Peniche (40 mins drive) from apartment and is a busy fishing town with a large harbour and some excellent seafood restaurants. Peniche is known for its long windy beaches, sought for recreational activities and surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing. Peniche beaches have very good waves. Supertubos is the most popular wave in the region, with very fast and powerful(tubular) waves, one of the best surfing areas in Europe. 

Foz do Arelho Beach (10 minutes drive from apartment)

Obidos Lagoon

A host of water sports are available on Obidos Lagoon, including kite surfing, windsurfing, catarmaran sailing, waterskiing and canoeing. There is a childrens play boat on the beach and a host of beach-side bars which offer views over the Atlantic and the lagoon and offer first-class service.

Nazare (20 minutes drive from apartment).  A stunning beach, typical fishermen houses and steep cliffs over a bright blue sea have made this fishing town become a popular holiday resort, mainly due to its traditional character.
Fishermen can still be seen wearing checkered shirts and black trousers, and their wives seven layers of petticoats: you can watch them mending nets or drying fish on the beach.  Enjoy the many restaurants and bars here.
